New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) Request for Applications - New Orleans Tricentennial: Lots To Celebrate

The New Orleans Tricentennial: Lots To celebrate initiative supports the creation and implementation of temporary public art and community event projects sited on New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (“NORA”) owned vacant lots in Orleans Parish. Proposed project lifespans can range from one day to several months and can include, but are not limited to: site specific art installations, community-focused events, and performing arts exhibitions. Projects that actively engage residents and community members in the design and planning of the proposed project or event and incorporate the celebratory themes of community pride and the city’s 300th anniversary are encouraged to apply.

This application is intended for individuals and organizations seeking to temporarily activate vacant lots owned by NORA through creative programming interventions that highlight the culture and history of the surrounding community while celebrating the Tricentennial.

NORA will accept applications on a rolling basis from April 17 through August 24, 2018 at 4:00 PM.

Applicants should note the following:

1) All applications must be completed electronically using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader is free software available at http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/).

2) As part of the application packet, be sure to complete and submit Exhibit B: Application Checklist to confirm that your application is complete prior to submittal. All exhibits are included with this solicitation.

3) If you are selected to participate in the Lots To Celebrate program you must:

a. Sign written agreements with NORA.
b. Commit to working with the surrounding community on the proposed temporary use.
c. Commit to hold adequate insurance relative to the end use on the lots.

4) Review all guidelines included in this solicitation prior to completing the application.
